Ancient Medicine for Modern Life
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) seeks to restore balance within the body.
TCM modalities include Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Tui Na Bodywork. These are energetic and physical tools utilized to address the body’s inner landscape, signaling deep rest and repair.
Acupuncture is widely sought for pain reduction, however it thrives in restoring systems such as the nervous system, gastrointestinal system and immune system.
“Take care of your inner garden, and your spirit will flourish.”
-
Acupuncture has a cumulative effect and treatments are best applied in a series of 6-12 individual sessions at a frequency of 1-2 times per week.
-
Herbal medicine seeks to improve the body’s underlying pattern and addresses chief complaints. Herbal supplements are often prescribed with acupuncture to address the patterns of disharmony, or root cause.
-
Manual therapy, Cupping and Bodywork techniques are utilized to support the acupuncture treatment. These additional techniques address specific areas like shoulder, neck, wrist etc. for improving range of motion and reducing pain.
-
Functional Lab testing provides further insight into the body's unique landscape and address the root cause of complex health conditions, hormone dysregulation, and chronic gut conditions.
How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture points are specific areas on the body, just beyond the surface of the skin. These points have high concentrations of nerve endings, mast cells, lymphatic vessels and capillaries. Acupuncture points are selected to help to regulate the various feedback loops in the body which turn on homeostasis; the body’s automatic ability to re-set, repair and heal.
Endocrine disrupting chemicals & it’s negative effect on hormones
Endocrine disrupting chemicals are found in everyday consumer products, household cleaning products, laundry detergents, nonstick pans and more. These “everyday” chemicals disrupt normal biological processes related to natural hormone production, synthesis and regulation. The growing body of research suggests that endocrine disruptors are linked to numerous poor health outcomes such as infertility, inflammatory bowel disease and more.
Better Digestion with acupuncture
Dysbiosis—an imbalance of gut bacteria, doesn’t just cause bloating or irregularity. It can impact your mood, hormones, immune system, and even skin. Acupuncture helps create an internal environment where beneficial bacteria thrive by improving circulation, reducing inflammation, and boosting immunity. Acupuncture supports the body’s ability to heal from within, creating the foundation needed for long-term gut repair.
